You can find the Winter 2005 issue at PetsMart, Barnes & Noble, Borders and Whole Foods or go to http://www.thebark.com/ to find your local retailer. In the name of full disclosure, I wrote an essay for this issue about my family's Katrina experience and interviewed some amazing people whose love for their dogs challenged them to do extraordinary things. The program tomorrow will expand on these incredible stories and discuss how dog lovers can further help Katrina victims.

Need feral colony caretakers in Metairie, LA
Date: Tue, 22 Nov 2005 15:39:06 -0600 From: "Lise or Jim McComiskey" <lisejimmy @cox .net> Subject: Need feral colony caretakers in Metairie, LA
Please let me know if anyone can assist on a regular basis with feeding small feral cat colonies located in Metairie, LA. The regular caretakers were either displaced from Katrina or are in failing health and can no longer care for the colony.
There are 13 managed colonies in zip codes 70002 and 70006. The average colony size is 4; however, there is 1 that is 8 in size and 1 which only has 2 cats. We have an offer from an individual who will commit to feed all 13 colonies on Thursdays and Sundays; if you feel you can offer even just 1 day per week, please let me know and if you can't help but may know someone who could, please forward this request to them.
Thank you for your help
