Lakeview woman needs a foster home for 3 cats
From: karenluvscats Sent: Saturday, January 28, 2006 4:36 PM Subject: Help Forum: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LouisianaDogCatRescu/
PLEASE CROSS POST
An individual that I met some time back while trapping in Lakeview lost her home. She kept my telephone number and called me. She is being offered a trailer by her church and has three cats. They will not allow pets in the trailer. She is looking for someone who will foster the cats for approximately six months. She is desperate for help. Please cross post to all members and other organizations to see if there is possibly someone out there that can help her.
If you can help, her name is Michelle and she can be reached at (504)210-5154.
Thanks,

Roicy....deadline 5 PM Monday, Jan 30
Date: Sat, 28 Jan 2006 19:56:16 -0600 From: "Debbie" <rescuerealtor @cox .net> Roicy....deadline 5 PM Monday, Jan 30 with PTS Tues unless held over Forum: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Katrina-Pet-Rescue-info/
I am FINALLY finished posting all the info. Unfortunately it looks like spring with all the animals, and we have very little time. I think we have something working for the cats, BUT, I need transport to Baton Rouge Monday, PLEASE. It will be for 10 cats. Can anybody help please????? All of the animals are wonderful, many owner surrenders and many dumped in the overnight kennel. Please get the word out QUICKLY about these animals. We cannot hold for rescue to arrange a transport, and we cannot ship the animals to you. Rescue must be in a position to get to Roicy by 3 PM with proof of non profit status, adoption policy and spay/neuter policy faxed in advance. Proof of alter and rabies must follow within 30 days. PLEASE HELP. Many of these gorgeous adult dogs will be put down Tuesday AM unless they are empty in stay hold, and this is highly unlikely.

Steps To Take When Witnessing Abusive Conditions At AnimalShelters
Sent: Friday, January 27, 2006 12:09 PM Subject: Steps To Take When Witnessing Abusive Conditions At AnimalShelters! Forum: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/topekaanimaltalk/
Thank you Animal Legal Defense Fund for this information!
- If you have information or have witnessed abusive or neglectful conditions at an animal shelter, we encourage you to first report your information to your local law enforcement agency.
- Second, contact the people or agencies who oversee the shelter and provide them with the your information. This is often the sheriff's department, city council, mayor or city manager.
- Photographs, video, and other evidence of the abusive conditions are helpful and persuasive.
- If the overseeing agency is non- responsive, consider circulating a petition demanding that the abusive conditions be immediately corrected.
- Consider enlisting the help of the local media (newspapers, radio and television stations) to publicize the situation.
- Remember, animals in these situations are wholly reliant on your voice to protect their interests.
Thank you.
